Widespread Panic opened its fall tour last night in Boston, while Umphrey’s McGee kicked off its own series of dates last week in New York. The Relix Live Fridays series, which launched last week, marks each occasion (each Friday the Relix site will stream portions of recent performances by acts favored by Relix readers). The Widespread Panic installment offers music from the band’s 2011 Red Rocks run, including a fitting take on “Postcard” that began Panic’s three night stand at the venue. The Umphrey’s McGee offering
presents portions of the group’s Brooklyn Bowl run, including the debut of “Miami Virtue,” from the band’s new release Death By Stereo.
