Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith and Producer Andrew Watt to Join Forces at Brooklyn Bowl

Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and Grammy Award-winning producer Andrew Watt will come together on Wednesday, Sept. 18, for a late-night set, 10:30 p.m., at the esteemed Brooklyn Bowl venue, located in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, N.Y. The night has been dubbed Smith & Watt Steakhouse and will function like a musical buffet, offering a smorgasbord offerings that will dip into covers, with potential guest inclusion.

Ahead of the pair’s latest concert announcement, Smith and Watt appeared at the 250-capacity Stephen Talkhouse venue in Amagansett, N.Y., on Tuesday, August 20, for a concert billed under the same name. During their stand, which conjured an array of rock staples, Smith and Watt extended the invite to former bandleader and co-musical director of the Saturday Night Live Band, G.E. Smith, as well as one of the greats, Sir Paul McCartney.

During the event, which featured the famed bassist’s sit-in, he took the lyrical lead during Neil Young’s protest anthem, “Rockin in the Free World,” and an improvisational leaning take on The Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There.”  While specific guests have not been confirmed for Smith & Watt Steakhouse’s Brooklyn Bowl debut, their track record supports solid sit-ins with captivating guests.

Tickets for Smith & Watt Steakhouse at Brooklyn Bowl on Wednesday, Sept. 18, are on sale now.
