Last night, Oct. 1, Real Estate pulled into Woodstock, N.Y. for a performance at the Bearsville Theater. The two-decade indie outfit’s fall touring has at once looked forward to their future and honored their past: After the departure of longtime guitarist Julian Lynch, the band has welcomed newcomer James Richardson for their Atlas 11-year-and-seven-month anniversary series. At the first East Coast engagement on that 12-stop run, the group welcomed an opening set from Trace Mountains, then tore through a performance that paired new favorites and old essentials like “Water Underground” and “Municipality” with a full-tracklist run through their third studio album. After finishing off their set with the album closer “Navigator,” the band returned for an encore of “Pink Sky,” “Suffern” and “Darling.”
