Phish returned to the stage last night at Savannah, GA’s Enmarket Arena after an off-day and the band picked up where it left off, by delivering some deep, extended improv. On July 12, the band opened its second set with a 38 minute “Simple.” On the 11th it was “Tweezer” which crested above the 30-minute mark. Last evening, “Split Open and Melt” took the honors.
The show opened with “David Bowie,” marking the first time that the song had appeared in the opening slot since 6/24/10 at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ. This standalone version was followed by a paired “Gumbo” and “Birds of a Feather” which cascaded across 23 minutes. “The Old Home Place” came next, marking the first time the band had performed the Dillards’ tune since 9/13/25. Then, following “Steam” and “The Curtain With,” Phish wrapped up the frame with a 14-minute “Horn,” marking in the group’s history that the song has appeared as a set-closer.
When the group returned, it embarked on a three-song journey, starting with an expansive 32-minute take on “SOAM,” then continuing with “Sand” which found its way to “It’s Ice” following a jam. The Ghosts of the Forest tune “About to Run” then followed, before the band opened things up again during “Piper,” which led into “Walls of the Cave.” The encores were “The Squirming Coil” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Fire,” which the group had last played on 7/25/23 at The Mann in Philadelphia.
Phish will be back at the Enmarket Arena tonight for the second of two shows at the venue.
