Philadelphia Flyers Announce Fifth Annual Grateful Dead Night

The Philadelphia Flyers have announced the return of their tie-dye tradition known as Grateful Dead Night. The event, which will take place on April 14, 2026, at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, marks the fifth time the host team has invited fans out for an evening of songs and imminent face-offs. The evening ahead will see the team play against the Montreal Canadiens.

In addition to the match-up, a pre-game concert featuring the 25-year running Dead tribute band, Splintered Sunlight, has been set as an added experience to the Flyer’s Dead Night ticket package. Beyond live music, the access bundle includes a commemorative T-shirt created by Wes Knorr (Westernsun Media Design).

Notably, the Dead and the Philadelphia Flyers’ connection dates back to the San Francisco jamband’s storied history of performing at the Philadelphia Spectrum, the hockey team’s former home rink. Before the building was demolished, the band put on 53 total concerts at the venue, cementing their live history in the City of Brotherly Love.

The Dead held the Spectrum record for the most shows by a band at the venue. Notably, during their final appearance at the aforementioned venue, the band reignited “Unbroken Chain,” playing the rarity to the delight of East Coast Deadheads. Watch video from the Dead’s Spectrum finale below.

A Grateful Dead Ticket Package, which grants access to the pre-game concert, the official face-off, and a commemorative T-shirt, is available now. For more information and to purchase, follow this link
