It’s been seven years since Paul Simon concluded his farewell tour. In 2018, the legendary singer-songwriter revealed that he’d been afflicted by sudden and severe hearing loss in his left ear, which worsened rapidly during the recording of his 2023 album Seven Psalms to the point where he became all but incapable of performing. While he has made some precious few public appearances since then–including a 2024 set for The Soho Sessions–audiences were amazed on Saturday when he commenced Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special with a treatment of “Homeward Bound” alongside Sabrina Carpenter.

Today, Simon has gone so much further by announcing A Quiet Celebration Tour, which will conclude the iconic artist’s hiatus and bring his unforgettable music to stages throughout the US and Canada. From April 4 to Aug. 3, Simon will deliver a total of 55 engagements at iconic venues all across North America, specifically selected for their intimate spaces and exceptional  acoustics to counter his hearing damage. His performances will be made possible by a partnership between the Stanford Initiative to Cure Hearing Loss and his production team, who produced an innovative stage setup complete with moving monitors to surround him in sound.

On his 2025 tour, Simon will present the live debut of Seven Psalms, his zeal for which encouraged him to overcome impossible odds and return to the spotlight. Recorded entirely on acoustic instruments, the artist’s recent song cycle was released as a continuous piece of music in seven movements, cultivating an immersive and deeply affecting listening experience. He’ll pair the project with new arrangements of the countless classics from throughout his sprawling and singular catalog.

Key dates within Simon’s expansive outing include a two-night kickoff from New Orleans’ Saenger Theater, three nights at Minneapolis’ Orpheum Theatre, three nights at Nashville, Tenn.’s hallowed Ryman Auditorium, three nights at Toronto’s Massey Hall, five nights at New York’s Beacon Theater, five nights at Los Angeles’ Disney Hall and a three-night finale at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall. See the full list of tour dates below.

Tickets for Simon’s A Quiet Celebration Tour will go on sale this Friday, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. local time. For more information, visit paulsimon.com.
