Legendary bassist and member of The Beatles, Paul McCartney, has announced a day-of concert. The musician shared a poster on social media confirming the one-and-only-date on his current live performance schedule, Tuesday, Feb. 11, at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, billed as Paul McCartney Rocks the Bowery.
Limited information on the background behind the concert is available, building momentum around what fans can expect from the show, which is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. tonight, after doors open at 5 p.m. local time. Tickets are now on sale only at the Bowery Ballroom box office; no tickets will be available online.
Tickets are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis—one ticket per person. McCartney went so far as to note via the announcement, “Avoid purchasing tickets from third-party vendors. Fake tickets will not be honored and entry will be denied.”
McCartney closed out the 2024 leg of his Got Back tour during a London concert in December when he was joined by former bandmate Ringo Starr and The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood. Beyond his scripted shows, McCartney has been known to surprise concert-goers with unexpected appearances.
Back in August, McCartney turned up at the Stephen Talkhouse venue in Amagansett, N.Y., where he helped Red Hot Chili Pepper Chad Smith and producer Andrew Watt perform Neil Young’s protest anthem, “Rockin’ in the Free World” and The Beatles’ own “I Saw Her Standing There.” Read more.
Story update: Following the initial concert announcement, Bowery Ballroom shared that the show had sold out. The Big Apple venue wrote: “All tickets for Paul McCartney’s show tonight have been sold out.” Scroll down to read the complete statement.
