Tonight, Phish will finally arrive in the Empire State for their highly anticipated two-night debut at Queens, N.Y.’s Forest Hills Stadium. Before their follow-up on Wednesday evening, keyboardist Page McConnell will step into the limelight at nearby Citi Field, where he’ll throw the first pitch in the Mets’ third game against Los Angeles Angels. The New Jersey-bred jam icon’s ceremonial guest spot is a high honor culminating a lifetime of Mets fandom, and the team will return the favor by sending Mr. and Mrs. Met to greet fans at the Waterwheel Foundation’s table at tonight’s show.
McConnell’s double-header will begin at 1:10 p.m. sharp, leaving fans ample time to catch some of the game before hustling back to Forest Hills before night two commences at 6:00 p.m. sharp. After the penultimate series in Phish’s summer tour, the band will head up to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. for a three-night finale at Broadview Stage at SPAC from July 25-27. After a month away, they’ll return for a seven-stop fall series from Sept. 13-21. Find tickets and more information here.
