Oteil & Friends Expand Tour, Add New Appearances Slated for August

Oteil & Friends have expanded their itinerary to include six new live engagements. After turning in their previously announced JamPacked Festival appearance in Richmond, Va., on August 1, the group of selected accompanists will proceed with a fresh roster of dates beginning August 2 at the French Broad River Brewery in Asheville, N.C.
After kicking off the new touring leg in the Southern region of the country, the band, comprised of Melvin Seals, Steve Kimock, Jason Crosby, Johnny Kimock, Tom Guarna, and Lamar Williams Jr., will proceed up the coast, where they will perform at The Muse in Nantucket, Mass., on August 5. The next evening, August 6, the group will bring their knack for reprising pieces of the Jerry Garcia Band, Dead, and independent song catalogs to Summer Stage at Tree House Brewing Company in South Deerfield, Mass.
The final trio of newly added dates will keep the group busy on August 7, when they are scheduled to take the stage at the Nashua Center for the Arts in Nashua, N.H. They will put on an ensuing concert, August 8 at the Stateside Amphitheater at Jay Peak Resort in Jay, Vt., before the final date on the calendar: August 9 at Lincoln Hill Farms in Canandaigua, N.Y.
Previously, Burbridge and collaborator Williams Jr. announced their intent to release a new collaborative album, The Offering, on May 1 via the Icelandic label Floki Studios. The forthcoming output presents eight tracks that offer waves of melody and groove, as well as whispers of Southern-rooted soul, gospel, and improvisational rock adages that propel Burbridge’s self-taught banjo expressions and the pair’s linked histories, weighted by their Allman Brothers roots.
