On July 4, Oasis performed their first show in 16 years at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The show kicked off the beginning of the duo’s Live ‘25 tour, featuring 41 dates around the world. The first tape of Liam and Noel Gallagher’s new chapter was a triumphant and crowd-pleasing glimpse back at their legacy.

The night began with Cast as the first opener, with Richard Ascroft taking the stage right after. Afterward, Oasis came to the stage with a 23-song setlist lined with classics, primarily focusing on their discography from 1994 to 1997. The duo began the event by coyly busting out 1995’s “Hello” off of their 1995 sophomore album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, which hadn’t made it to the stage since 2002. Further bust-outs beyond the scope of their most recent hiatus included “Stand By Me” off of 1997’s Be Here Now, which had not been performed since 2001, and “Bring It On Down,” which had not been performed since 2006, among others.

Among the most notable moments in the riveting revival performance were anthemic treatments of “Roll With It” and a slew of cuts from 1994’s Definitely Maybe, like “Whatever,” “Supersonic” and “Live Forever.” In a particularly powerful moment, the latter was dedicated to Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota, who recently lost his life in a car accident. For the encore, the group performed their most titanic hits: “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” “Wonderwall,” and the show-closing “Champagne Supernova.”

Oasis will return to the stage on Friday, July 11 for a performance at Manchester, U.K.’s Heaton Park. Find tickets and more tour information oasisinet.com.
