NYS Music Transitions to Non-Profit Organization, Plans to Amplify Music and Art in New York State

NYS Music, the online platform curated and committed to New York’s manifold music scene, has officially transitioned into a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The initial intent will remain the same: to function as a foundation for music fans, artists, and industry elites to support up-and-coming talent and highly regarded acts from the indie-rock canon, jazz, jam and hip hop.
Beyond the program’s change-making aim, NYS Music will also expand its mission to support and encourage New York’s musical community, building on the established sonic patrimony that has coursed through the state and made it a mecca for creative expression. On their website, folks can access independent journalism, concert reviews and interviews, as well as connect with other regional fans to make the most of the Empire State’s offerings.
The site also offers an all-inclusive look at musical events based on location, giving folks from Buffalo to Albany a chance to check in and enjoy the sights and sounds of the state’s prolific live performance scene.
From its humble beginnings as a small music blog, NYS Music has evolved to reflect the state’s effervescent affinity for the arts through a rich offering of legacy programming, which conveys the importance of cultivating community in an artistic manner.
