A new musical is in the works featuring the music of the Grateful Dead as Broadway World (via Jambase) that a casting notice was posted for an upcoming musical.
The untitled project is considered a "musical comedy" that incorporates the music of the Grateful Dead and that Rachel Klein is directing a July reading with musical direction from longtime Dead associate Jeff Chimenti.
More info on the production notes that it is a "semi-fantastical and immersive Americana tale of the Jones family in 1920s Cumberland, Maryland as they con, swindle and gamble their way into riches."
