New York’s New Venue Racket NYC Details Debut Shows
Just a few weeks following the announcement of Racket, a new 650-capacity club in the heart of the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, the venue has shared the first wave of programming. The venue, which is partnered with The Bowery Presents, the East Coast regional partner of AEG Live, will open its doors on Jan. 7, 2023.
Jan. 7’s show will be headlined by Real Estate and feature Cut Worms; the following week, Racket will welcome Little Big on Jan. 20; then TR/ST on Feb. 17 and American Authors with Billy Raffoul the following evening on Feb. 18. Performers are scheduled through April 29, with Cowgirl Clue on March 11, Anna of the North featuring Maris on March 18, Wild Child on April 14, Model/Actriz on April 20, Joywave on April 25 and finally City of the Sun on April 29.
Racket is set to fill the mid-sized venue-shaped hole left in the hearts of many New Yorkers following the closure of The Highline Ballroom, which operated in the heart of Chelsea for 12 years and shuttered its doors on Feb. 18, 2019, after it was unable to renew its lease.
