On Oct. 22, My Morning Jacket will release a new, self-titled album, My Morning Jacket.
To celebrate, the announcement, the group has also dropped the music video for the album’s lead track “Regularly Scheduled Programming.”
For those keeping score at home, MMJ dropped The Waterfall II in July 2020, sharing leftovers from their 2015 The Waterfall sessions. However this new album marks their first batch of completely new content in over six years.
“I hope this album brings people a lot of joy and relief, especially since we’ve all been cooped up for so long,” frontman Jim James said of the new project. “I know that feeling you get from driving around blasting music you love, or even lying in bed and crying to the music you love. The fact that we’re able to be a part of people’s lives in that way is so magical to us, and it feels really good that we’re still around to keep doing that.”
