Mumford & Sons To Release New Album from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

July 23, 2013

The latest album from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros was released in the United States yesterday via Universal. In Europe however, the album has an altogether different label, as Mumford & Sons are issuing the record on their own Gentlemen of the Road imprint. The group has just released an open letter discussing Better Days and their motivation to release it.

Dear All,

You may have heard by now that we really like Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. In fact, we love them so much that we heard their new record, went mental, and begged them to let us release said album* on our own record label, Gentlemen of the Road. This will be the first non-Mumford & Sons release that we’ve ever done, and there’s no better way to kick things off than with this magical record, which we think will be dearly loved for a long time, not just by us, but by lots of people.

So we wanted you to hear this from us. Listen to Better Days. You’ll have a better day. And listen to Life Is Hard, because you’ll never celebrate life’s complications with more joy or abandon. And listen to If I Were Free for a real journey. They’re just amazing songs, by an amazing band, and we’re really excited.

_With lots of love,
_

Ted, Ben, Win and Marcus.
