Mike Gordon Outlines New March Tour
Mike Gordon has announced a new slate of tour dates for March. The Phish bassist shared a roster of spring stops, which will pick up on March 13, at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, N.Y. Joining Gordon on the road are John Kimock, Robert Walter, Xavier Lynn, Bob Wagner, and newcomer Eli Winderman at select stops.
After turning in an Upstate evening, Gordon and his band will take their talents to The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, N.J., on March 14, followed by a night in Philadelphia. On March 17, the group will arrive at the Orange Peel in Asheville, N.C. They will remain in the Southern region, picking up live appearances in Charlotte, N.C. [March 19], Nashville [March 20], Atlanta [March 21], and Charleston, S.C.[March 22].
On March 24, the ensemble will arrive in the Nation’s capital, where they will perform at the Lincoln Theatre. Two nights later, they’ll play the Brooklyn Bowl stage in New York, before swinging the remainder of the tour through the Northeast: Boston [March 27], Portland, Maine [March 28], and Burlington, Vt. [March 29].
Mike Gordon released his latest solo album, Flying Games, in 2024. Speaking with Relix Editor-in-Chief Dean Budnick, the bassist discussed the live impact of performing. “When I’m onstage in the middle of a big jam, sometimes the way the groove is floating feels like flying—that’s what’s in my brain.”
He continued, “There’s a very acute sense of that from the propulsion and the feeling of the music. It’s similar to dreams where it’s been really significant and fun to get off the ground. That’s all also connected to my sense of a flow state.”
Gordon’s tour will take place ahead of Phish’s nine-night siege of the Las Vegas Sphere, April 16-18, April 23-25, April 30-May 2. Read more.
