Michelle Zauner, Kevin Morby, Eric D. Johnson to Revive The Piano Recital After Five-Years

After a five-year hiatus, one of the most revered musical events, The Piano Recital, will once again commence. The event will take place for the first time at New York’s Carnegie Hall on Feb. 25, 2023.
The performance will feature the musical stylings of Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast, Kevin Morby and Eric D. Johnson, known for his work with Fruit Bats and Bonny Light Horseman. Each of the artists will perform their songs on solo piano on the Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at the iconic venue, which first opened in 1981 and has hosted the likes of Vladimir Horowitz, Groucho Marx, and Elton John.
“Playing a unique gig like The Piano Recital is always a true joy,” said Johnson in a press release. “I played the first incarnation of it some years back and it was a blast – a great memory that lives on. To be able to return to it, this time at a legendary spot like Carnegie Hall, is like a dream come true.”
Along with Zauner, Morby and Johnson, Courtney Marie Andrews, Craig Finn (The Hold Steady), Phil Cook, Uwade, and Johanna Samuels will also perform.
Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be found here.
