Metallica Announce Life Burns Faster Residency at Sphere

Metallica have formally announced a new residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere. Following months of speculation, the legendary metal outfit has confirmed a run of eight shows at the technologically unparalleled venue, comprising four pairs of performances on October 1 and 3, 15 and 17, 22 and 24, and 29 and 31. The band’s Life Burns Faster residency will hold to their No Repeat Weekend standard initiated on their M72 World Tour, with no songs doubled across the Thursday and Saturday sets in the series.

“About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ’23, I thought, ‘We have to do this; it’s completely uncharted territory!’” drummer Lars Ulrich shared in a statement. “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way fuckin’ psyched to go next level!”

Metallica’s Sphere residency will follow another European lap on their M72 World Tour, which has lapped around the globe in celebration of their eleventh studio album, 72 Seasons, since 2023, earning its slot as the 17th highest-grossing tour of all time. The four-decade metal mainstays will be the eleventh act to take the stage, after U2, Phish, Dead & Company, the Eagles, Anyma, Kenny Chesney, Backstreet Boys, Unity (featuring Chase & Status, Kaskade and Eli Brown), the Zac Brown Band and No Doubt.

Tickets for Metallica at Sphere will go on sale on March 6 at 10 a.m. PT. Find more information here.
