Psychedelic-funk outfit, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, have unveiled details regarding their latest studio entry, and subsequent eighth studio output, Feed the Fire, due on October 3, 2025, via No Coincidence Records. As the initial listen and formal preview of the impending 12-track collection, the group has delivered the single, “Calm Before the Storm,” a groove-heavy offering that features horns mingles with their genre signatures, dropping notes of rock, funk and extemporized playfulness.

Feed the Fire integrates the collective’s 16-year tenure, which has fueled the kinship between members, including Greg Ormont (vocalist/guitarist), Jeremy Schon (guitarist), Ben Carrey (bassist), and Alex Petropulos (drummer). On the tracklist, the quartet taps assistance from Moon Taxi’s Wes Bailey, Here Come The Mummies’ brass section, and producer Chalk Dinosaur.

“The ‘fire’ represents our passion,” explains Ormont. “Making music feels like something we were born to do, and that’s why we stay committed to stoking that creative flame every step of the way. Feed The Fire is the perfect metaphor for our unwavering commitment to keep evolving. This album captures that ever-inspiring journey of becoming our best selves both on and off the stage.” Schon adds.

He continues, “Every album we make is a reflection of where we are personally and musically. For Feed The Fire, we really leaned into exploring textures, pushing our boundaries, and letting the songs guide us.”

“Calm Before the Storm” features West End Blend’s Michael Bafundo and John Mundy, horn players who contribute an added layer of funk that complements the band’s classic blend of instrumental and lyrical elements.
