Vocal powerhouse and wordsmith, Maggie Rose, has announced the August 14, 2026, release of her new forthcoming studio record, Half Moon. As the first listen and initial preview of new material, Rose has unveiled the single, “Red Shoes,” a feel-good anthem driven by the need that fuels a Friday night on the town and the crimson descriptor that encases her glide to get paid, laid, and feel free.

The groove-driven number unlocks a soulful cascade of lyrics that convey a mission of independence and joy. In her own words, Rose says: “It’s a song about forgetting your responsibilities and everything happening in the world and just going out and having a good time, which I think we all deserve.”

The track was written by Rose, Lawrence Rothman (Amanda Shires, Margo Price), Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves, Leon Bridges), and co-produced by Rothman and Tashian, over the course of a couple of weeks. “We’d leave each session with these beautiful, fully conceived demos, and after a few songs it became apparent that something special was happening.”

Half Moon comes after Rose released her 2024 LP No One Gets Out Alive and 2025 follow-up single “Poison In My Well.” Her recent accolades include earning an Emerging Act Of The Year nod from the Americana Music Association in 2025. Rose’s latest studio time harnesses her emotions and experiences into a revealing new set of music.

“The sound is orchestral and wide-ranging because I was trying to capture and portray the duality within the album,” says Rose. “Like the moon, the whole of us is always there but revealed differently depending on the light.”

Ahead of the album’s release, Rose will hit the road with a bevy of talented acts and artists such as Chris Stapleton, Lake Street Dive, Melissa Etheridge & Wynonna Judd, Gov’t Mule, and Molly Tuttle.
