Listen: Cat Power Shares Stunning Cover of The Rolling Stones’ “You Got The Silver”
Cat Power has shared her stunning take on The Rolling Stones’ “You Got The Silver.” The artist’s latest interpretation highlights her raw vocal abilities by pairing them with fluttery instrumentals to create a hauntingly beautiful take on the Keith Richards-led original.
“You Got The Silver” was initially released on The Rolling Stones’ seminal 1969 LP, Let It Bleed, and touches on the band’s country blues stage. Power carries over the tonality of the original using her nonchalant, calm approach and infuses the track with an extra layer of emotions that makes the listener stop and soak up every deliciously sung lyric.
Power’s latest single follows the release of her all-covers album. Covers, which dropped on Jan. 14 via Domino Recording Company, showcases Power’s take on a variety of material: from Frank Ocean’s “Bad Religion” to Lana Del Ray’s “White Mustang” and more.
