Fiddler Casey Driessen has traveled the globe, collaborating with musicians of all stripes to create Otherlands: A Global Music Exploration, a “travelogue of on-location recordings, short films and essays that documents the collaborations of American fiddler and educator Casey Driessen in Spain, Ireland, Scotland, India, Japan and Finland.”

Today, the musician is sharing “Aye Nagari” and “Kouon frouva,” collaborations from India and Finland, respectively.

The tunes will also be collected on Driessen’s upcoming album Otherlands: ONE, out April 23.

“The collaborations were challenging and inspiring—beautiful, unexpected ideas happen when people of diverse backgrounds come together. And like me, they were willing to open themselves to what a chance meeting might bring,” Driessen said of the project.

“Music is such a passport,” he added “Even before anything is said, there’s a common ground—we’re musicians.”
