Lettuce and GZA Announce Fourth of July Collaborative Show in Denver

Earlier this year, Lettuce embarked on the Get Up Tour, an expansive run that took them to 16 high-profile venues across the country–seven of which featured the great GZA for full-album treatments of his iconic 1995 hardcore hip-hop opus Liquid Swords. Today, the Boston-bred jam-funk ensemble and legendary Wu-Tang Clan wordsmith have announced plans to continue the 30th anniversary celebration for that landmark record with a special Fourth of July performance at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver.
The Independence Day get-down will immediately follow the Wu-Tang Clan’s July 4 “Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Tour” performance at the Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre, the unparalleled rap pathbreakers’ last show in Colorado. On the group’s towering legacy and the chance to collaborate with one of its foremost artists yet again, Lettuce drummer Adam Deitch reflected, “Wu-Tang Clan to this day has such a cultural impact on this world.
“GZA aka the Genius, who we’ve gotten to know and work with over the years, is an integral part of the style, knowledge, and sound of this legendary group. GZA’s album Liquid Swords is a classic, and we are honored to be sharing the stage with him and his band. Lettuce looks forward to seeing you all in attendance for this monumental tour, featuring dates that will join classic Hip Hop, Funk, Soul, and mysterious psych jams into one big sweaty event!”
