King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have shared the title track off their twenty-eighth album, Alien Metal, which is slated for release later this summer on p(doom) records. Along the track, the group has dropped “Alien Metal”’s accompanying, Jason Galea-designed visualizer.
Written and recorded on the modular synthesizer set up which the members of King Gizzard took out on the road last year for their “rave shows,” named Nathan by the band, the LP finds the group leaning in a more electronic-music direction. King Gizzard will likely showcase the new songs from the LP—“Sapience,” “Alien Metal,” “Superheavy, Supercritical,” “Kill For The Steel,” “Level 5,” “Rapid Alpha Decay,” “Uqt” and “Atomic Collapse—when they hit the road later this summer.
In other news, King Gizzard have also confirmed a new set of dates in their native Australia. The ensemble will now make their way from Thirroul to Melbourne from October 13-18, stopping in Sydney along the way. Up next, the group will host their Field Of Vision II Festival in Buena Vista, CO, from August 14-16.
