Keen Teams Up with the Jerry Garcia Family for Rainforest Benefit Concert on FANS

On April 22 – aka Earth Day – eco-conscious shoemaker Keen will team up with the Jerry Garcia family for a free rainforest benefit concert, streaming live on FANS.
The lineup for the event will be announced in the coming weeks, but organizers promise a celebration of beautiful music, raising funds and awareness for Alaska’s Tongass National Forest, which is curretly under the threat of expanded logging.
The Tongass is the planet’s “largest temperate rainforest, and one of the most carbon-storing terrestrial ecosystems.”
“We’re asking you to take action to reinstate the Roadless Rule on the Tongass National Forest and work with Congress to pass the Roadless Area Conservation Act,” reads a statement from organizers. “Please spread awareness, sign the petition, and help out in any way that you can.“
Naturally, the show will also pay tribute to the Grateful Dead’s longstanding dedication towards environmentalism, namely their 1988 rainforest benefit concert at Madison Square Garden.
