Marcus King Band Family Reunion Unveils Daily Schedules

Marcus King has officially unveiled the daily lineups for his Marcus King Band Family Reunion, set to return on Aug. 23-24 at North Charleston, S.C.’s Firefly Distillery. For its fifth annual presentation, King’s raucous tribute to the down-home musical culture of his youth will welcome an all-star lineup of his friends and resounding voices in the alt-country world.
“When I was growing up in South Carolina, once a year we’d pack the family car up and head to my great grandparents’ home for some front porch pickin’, covered dishes, lots of love, and plenty of leftovers,” King said of the event’s inspiration. “This is where I learned about the joy music could bring and how it’s a powerful force that brings us all together. I want to bring that same joy to all of you folks this year with the return of the annual Marcus King Band Family Reunion.”
Down the coast from its former home of Simpsonville, S.C.’s CCNB Amphitheater, King and his stacked ensemble will deliver two days of torch-bearing Southern-rock, electric blues, bluegrass, and more. On Saturday, Aug. 23, attendees will catch early sets from Pearl and Leah Blevins, followed by a guest-packed Marcus King & Friends set, bluegrass firebrand Molly Tuttle and a headline performance from Grammy-nominated outlaw country powerhouse Jamey Johnson.
On Sunday, afternoon engagements from Henry’s Pocket and Joshua Ray Walker will set the stage for indie folk combo Hiss Golden Messenger, self-described “Death Cab for Country” pathbreaker Stephen Wilson Jr. and a grand finale from the Marcus King Band. In keeping with the collaborative spirit of Americana and the event’s eclectic curation, the Family Reunion’s program is always packed with surprises as artists honor their inspirations and lend a hand to their peers.
