Snocaps will come together for a pair of dates this winter. The indie-roots supergroup features Katie Crutchfield—who performs as Waxahatchee—and her twin sister Allison Crutchfield, alongside rising guitarist MJ Lenderman and Megafaun co-founder and noted producer Brad Cook. The four musicians have been in each other’s orbits for a number of years, collaborating on a range of studio projects along the way, and released a self-titled album on Halloween last year via Anti-. The Crutchfields wrote all the material included on the project, with multi-instrumentalist Cook at the helm and Lenderman contributing a variety of instruments, including drums.
The combo supported the project on the road last December—with Colin Croom on guitar, Cook on bass and Lenderman behind the kit—and Lenderman and Waxahatchee staged a collaborative tour this spring, mixing a few tracks off the LP into their set. As of now, Snocaps’ only confirmed appearances are at Carrboro, NC’s 107 Brewer Ln on February 4 and 5. Sam & Louise Sullivan will open night one while Star Moles will supply support duties on night two.
