As his whirlwind rise continues, Jon Muq has announced his plans to take his music on the road with a new fall tour. From Sept. 25 to Oct. 15, the Kampala, Uganda-born and Austin, Texas-based singer-songwriter will make 15 stops across the South, West and Mountain regions as solo support for I’m With Her. His connection with the Americana trio of Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz and Aoife O’Donovan, whom he first met aboard the 2025 Cayamo Cruise, will introduce new audiences to the personal and powerful songs of his 2024 debut album Flying Away, as well as “Hear My Voice,” a new single out today on which the artist reflects on his journey so far.
“I hope the audience understands the difference between the world I came from and the world I’m now living in after I sing and talk about the challenges and differences between the two,” Muq said of the upcoming outing.
Muq will begin his fall series alongside I’m With Her with a stand at Oklahoma City, Okla.’s Tower Theatre on Sept. 25. After a follow-up at Dallas’ Majestic Theatre, he’ll return to the Live Music Capital of the World, where he’ll perform for a hometown crowd at the Paramount Theatre on Sept. 27. Muq will pass through the Southwest with a stop in Santa Fe, N.M., then climb the California coast with stops in San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Davis from Oct. 1-6. His four-show leg in the Pacific Northwest will include performances at Seattle’s Moore Theatre on Oct. 8 and Portland, Ore.’s Revolution Hall on Oct. 10 before he finally wraps the run with an Oct. 14 stand in Aspen, Colo. and finale at Denver’s Paramount Theatre on Oct. 15.
