Jesse Malin to Stage ‘Silver Manhattan: A Musical Guide to Survival’

New York-based musician Jesse Malin will stage a new show, Silver Manhattan: A Musical Guide to Survival later this year. Billed as a “play, a story and a concert performed live on stage with a full band,” the unique presentation will run once a month at New York’s Gramercy Theatre from September through January.

On May 4, Malin suffered a rare spinal stroke that left him paralyzed from the waist down. He has spent much of the past two years relearning how to walk and returned to the stage this past fall for two all-star performances at New York’s Beacon Theatre. Though Malin will head across the pond for performances in London on May 1 and 2, he will not tour North America this fall. Of the unique shows he says,  “We will be working it up all summer to bring it to you. While I am still recovering, I won’t be touring for a while, so you might  have to come to my neighborhood to see me and the boys do this thing.” The longtime New York resident is also a visible face in the nightlife scene who owns numerous bars and concert venues.

Silver Manhattan: A Musical Guide to Survival will present Malin’s personal narrative, while blending in music from Heart Attack and D Generation, as well as his solo career. The show opens on September 6th at the Gramercy and will be performed one Saturday per month, on October 4, November 22, December 6, and January 11, 2026. Silver Manhattan is written by Malin, produced by Tommy Kriegsmann / ArKtype and David Bason, and presented by Peter Shapiro.
