Jazz Aspen Snowmass Unveils Artist Lineup for 2024 June Experience

Jazz Aspen Snowmass has unveiled the full artist lineup for the 2024 JAS June Experience. This year’s event series will take place on June 20-23 and welcome 19 major names from the worlds of jazz, blues, soul and more to 12 venues in downtown Aspen. By featuring multiple-day bookings and simultaneous performances all within walking distance of the city center, the JAS June Experience privileges intimate encounters with iconic acts and encourages attendees to curate individualized experiences.

Following the format established by the 2019 presentation, this year’s festivities will begin on Thursday, June 20, with a smaller selection of acts and stages, including Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at Belly Up. Later that evening, the Rio Grande VIP Tent will host a Tribute to Aretha Franklin from Grammy-winning song stylist and Rolling Stones backup-vocalist Ms. Lisa Fischer with the JAS Academy Jazz Band, arranged and conducted by eight-time Grammy winner Christian McBride, longtime Artistic Director of the JAS Academy summer residency.

The event will reach its full scale on Friday, June 21, when the JAS will present ten shows including Tommy Emmanuel, Ben Paterson Organ Trio, The New Mastersounds 25th Anniversary Celebration and the incomparable 90-year-old blues innovator Bobby Rush. On Saturday, June 22, the series will feature 15 performances from such acts as Cory Henry, Orquesta Akokan, a 50th Anniversary set from The Headhunters and a Remembering Ray Brown tribute from McBride, Benny Green and Gregory Hutchinson. To close the event with a bang, the legendary gospel choir Blind Boys of Alabama will host a Gospel Brunch at the VIP Tent on Sunday, June 22.

On the astounding upcoming event, JAS President and CEO Jim Horowitz has shared, “The variety of genres of world-class music and artists provide a fantastic window for attendees to see and imagine what will happen year-round at JAS’ future permanent, intimate home for performance, education, events & recording, the JAS Center, above the historic Red Onion. Every artist featured at June JAS will have a home, not just at June JAS, but at the JAS Center, throughout the year!”
