Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit Highlight ‘Reunions’ Tracks at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville New Year’s Eve Livestream

On Dec. 31, 2020, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit delivered a livestreamed performance to ring in the New Year. The rock/country star and his band played at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville sans audience and streamed the show live on FANS.
Isbell led the group through a variety of tunes, spanning songs that were released under the moniker Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit as well as songs released by Isbell as a solo artist. Quite a few of the set’s songs appear on Isbell & The 400 Unit’s 2020 record Reunions. Back in May, Isbell and his wife/bandmate/creative partner Amanda Shires performed one of the first shows ever at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville, albeit also without a crowd, to celebrate the release of Reunions.
The show kicked off with “Overseas,” which comes off of Reunions. After “Hope the High Road,” Isbell led the band through two more Reunions cuts: “Running With Our Eyes Closed” and “It Gets Easier.” Later in the show, after cuts such as “Alabama Pines,” “24 Frames” and “Cover Me Up,” Isbell closed out the evening with the first track off Reunions, “What’ve I Done to Help.”
Isbell kicked off the performance with an short, uplifting message. “We’re happy to be joining you guys virtually in sound and in spirit for this very special New Year’s Eve,” he said. “I can’t think of a single NYE that I have anticipated with the ferocity of joy that I am anticipating this one, so it’s good to spend it with you guys.”
The first bit of the show is available to watch via the Relix YouTube channel. Watch it and check out the full setlist below!
