Today, Modest Mouse’s In Between Days Music Festival has announced their expanded lineup and plan for their second-ever gathering set for Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy, Mass., on Aug. 19 and 20. The gathering will feature nearly 25 bands on two stages showcasing the best live music in New England with headliners Modest Mouse, Lord Huron, Metric, Trampled By Turtles, and Sunny Day Real Estate.

The festival is just eight miles south of Boston and is accessible on foot via a short trek from Wollaston Station or Quincy Center stops on the MBTA Red Line, and will take place on expansive open-air grounds for a one-of-a-kind experience in partnership with Little City Thrifty Vintage Market and The Good Trade Makers Market.

“We see this event bringing something new to the Greater Boston festival landscape,” shared Festival Director James Macdonald, known for his efforts producing Life Is Good Festival as well as other prominent music fests and events in the region, in a press release. “In Between Days is eclectic and diverse, delivering an experience unlike any other in Boston.”  

Along with the aforementioned top bill acts, In Between Days will also welcome Cautious Clay, Yoke Lore, Blitzen Trapper, Allison Ponthier, Illiterate Light, Slothrust, Fantastic Cat and Miko Marks, and local acts, Weakened Friends, shallow pools, Kat Wright, Dwight & Nicole, Paper Tigers, Dutch Tulips, Carissa Johnson, Mint Green, Gypsy Moths, and Sweet Petunia.

Along with the music, the festival will also feature vintage fashion, home decor, vinyl record dealers and local independent makers who will be selling their wares. There will also be a retro arcade presented by Bit Bar Salem and food from local restaurants and food trucks.

“We are so excited that In Between Days is expanding to two days for 2023,” said festival founder Alex Magleby. “After great feedback following our first year, our lineup has grown exponentially and is stacked with two stages of great local and global musical talent, our new vintage marketplace will feature everything from thrifting to vinyl and the retro arcade will double in size. We’re excited about our diverse food and beverage vendors.  We really can’t wait to bring this community back together to share the expanding experience with new friends and artists at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy this August.”

In Between Days also shared it has made a donation to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Jeremiah Green of Modest Mouse, on Dec. 31, 2022, passed at the age of 45.  “Modest Mouse’s management has indicated to us that the band is committed to performing at In Between Days. Out of respect for the band, any other messages or statements regarding personnel or specifics will come from the band itself at a later date,” said the festival of Modest Mouse’s appearance.
