Happy Birthday Ivan Neville: Watch the Keyboardist “Through The Years” and Stream His Debut LP

Aug. 19 marks Ivan Neville’s 60th birthday.

To celebrate, Universal Music has re-released the keyboardist’s 1988 solo debut If My Ancestors Could See Me Now, making it available via streaming for the first time.

Neville has also kept busy this summer touring with Dumpstaphunk, including an opening set for The Rolling Stones on July 15 in the band’s hometown of New Orleans. Neville also plans to tour with longtime collaborator Bonnie Raitt in September, and there’s even a new Dumpstaphunk record on the way.

“Dumpsta’s been working on some new music for quite a while,” Neville recently told Relix. “…we’re branching out a little bit, incorporating new songs and some stuff we have played on tour that we’ve never recorded. We’re trying to do what feels natural to us and not think too hard about it.”

For more information about Neville and Dumpstaphunk visit the band’s official website.
