Greensky Bluegrass have announced a return to Morrison, Colo.’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre. On Sept. 13, the jamgrass trailblazers will take the stage for their 20th annual performance at the scenic Rocky Mountain overlook, just as they celebrate 25 years of furthering American traditional music. With support from country firebrand Margo Price, the staging will be the group’s first single-night Red Rocks event since 2017.

The Red Rocks sets have become a beloved tradition for GSBG fans, who have seen the band at their very best at the turning point into autumn. In 2024, the group brought on more than eight hours of barnburners and soul-stirrers over the course of two days, featuring sit-ins from openers The California Honeydrops and Andy Frasco & The U.N., plus original debuts and a vast cache of covers, including first-time treatments of REO Speedwgon’s “Roll with the Changes,” Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places” and “Man Smart, Woman Smarter” in the style of the Grateful Dead.

Greensky Bluegrass is currently taking a spell away from the road; on Feb. 27, the band announced that it had regretfully postponed its six March tour dates until June due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The band will return to the stage on April 19 with a headline set at Atlanta’s Sweetwater 420 Fest, then tear into a heap of billings in festival season.
