Gov’t Mule and Ziggy Marley have cancelled their scheduled appearance at Tuscaloosa, AL’s Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater due to the weather forecast. The bands were slated to appear at the venue tomorrow on their Dreaming The Same Dream Tour, with Larkin Poe providing support duties and Yola offering a DJ set.
A note from the bands explains, “The safety of our fans, artists, staff and crew is our top priority. Ticketmaster: Tickets will be automatically refunded to the original method of payment. No action is required. Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater Box Office: Tickets must be refunded in person during business hours, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm.” A hurricane warning is currently in affect for the area.
Last night, the tour rolled through Tallahassee, FL’s Adderley Amphitheater at Cascades Park. During Gov’t Mule’s slot, Marley emerged with background singers Tracey Hazzard and Natasha Pearce for a version of his father’s “Lively Up Yourself” that featured a tease of Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog.” (After shying away for sit ins at the start of the joint run, Marley emerged to join Mule for the same tune on two previous occasions this week.) Soon after, Yola also returned to the stage for a run through Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster’s classic “Me and Bobby McGee,” a number she also sat in on earlier in the tour.
The Dreaming The Same Dream Tour will stop at Atlanta’s Coca-Cola Roxy on Saturday.
