Last night, Sept. 30, Goose returned to the stage for the latest stop on their fall tour. The rapidly rising indie jam quartet’s last lap of 2025 has celebrated a year of tremendous achievement with nightly live surprises, and their engagement at Columbus, Ohio’s Kemba Live! continued the trend with revived treatments of old favorite covers.

Goose set off their performance on Tuesday night with the moody, tried-and-true show opener “Dr. Darkness,” which gave way to the recent live staple “My Mind has Been Consumed by Media.” After the intro pairing, the band dashed into another combo of the uncommon Moon Cabin cut “Interlude II” and the debut album’s centerpiece “Jive I,” bridged by a seamless transition and followed by the pseudo-autobiographical Chain Yer Dragon entry “Turbulence & The Night Rays.” The first surprise of the evening came with a return to Chick Corea’s “Spain,” covered for the first time since June 2024, which gave the group the momentum to tear through a set-closing “Jive Lee.”

After a brief intermission, Goose returned with “Arrow,” which shot off into an expansive second set medley as it’s well known to do. The improvisatory cornerstone of the show continued as the band tore through “Wysteria Lane,” “A Western Sun” and “Buttered Rum,” then finally took a beat before launching the set’s next phase. “Hot Tea” was the major jam vehicle of choice of Tuesday, spiralling out into progressive guitar heroics and nimble interplay before unexpectedly veering off into a resurrection of Kylie Minogue’s pop earworm “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” covered for the first time since October 2024. The band pulled off a perfect transition back into “Hot Tea” to conclude the final frame on an exhilarating high note, then finally closed the show with an encore of “SALT.”

Goose will perform next at Richmond, Va.’s Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront, where they’ll stage two shows on Oct. 2 and 3. They’ll remain on the road for two more shows in Philadelphia and Las Vegas on Oct. 4 and 5, then round out their year of touring with an appearance at Suwannee Hulaween and Goosemas 2025, presenting at Providence, R.I.’s Amica Mutual Pavilion on Dec. 12 and 13.
