Last night, June 11, Goose stepped into the spotlight in Chesterfield, Mo. for the second show of their two-night run at The Factory. To conclude the series, the pioneering indie-groove quartet kept up the thrills of their Everything Must Go Tour so far with another stacked setlist, carefully balancing tried and true covers with fan favorite originals from throughout their 11-year discography. Beyond the sort of masterful performances that can only come from the mid-tour flow-state, the combo of Rick Mitarotonda, Peter Anspach, Cotter Ellis and Trevor Weekz upped the ante with a Moody Blues bust-out, plus a rare on-stage appearance from Coach.

Goose kicked off their second show in Missouri with their fourth treatment of the recently debuted “Iguana Song,” their longest to date at just over 14 minutes. The band followed with an explosive “Flodown” and the Dripfield standout “Honeybee,” for which they called Coach–the band’s co-founder and longtime tour manager, stage manager, mentor and more Jon Lombardi–to the stage to add more percussive texture with a rainstick, as he’s done on the song more times than not. After covers of Bob Marley’s “Caution” and Bon Iver’s “AUATC,” the group roared on the Great Blue original “Yeti,” then wrapped the first frame with “Everything Must Go.”

After a first set that focused heavily on full tracks over transitions and connective jams, Goose ripped into a second by doing just the opposite. From a blistering unfinished “Hatch,” the quartet quickly shifted into a stirring cover of the Moody Blues’ essential “Nights in White Satin,” which they hadn’t staged since September 2023. “Jeff Engborg,” another Great Blue cut, was the only standalone track of the evening’s later half and provided the band with a chance to recollect themselves before a sprint through “Rosewood Heart,” “Spirit of the Dark Horse” and a grand finale of the longtime setlist staple and proven show closer “Hot Tea.” For one last thrill, Goose tacked on a 13-minute encore of “SALT.”

Goose will return to the stage tonight for a performance at Indianapolis’ Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park, then move on to Manchester, Tenn. for their long-awaited set at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival on Friday, June 13. They’ll keep the marathon coming with 13 further engagements through the end of August, including high-profile festival bookings like Newport Folk and their first headline performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
