Dave Matthews Band have outlined support for their annual three-day trip to The Gorge Amphitheatre. The Memorial Weekend gathering is scheduled nightly from Friday, August 29 to Sunday, August 31. Ahead of the occasion, the headliners shared who will open each night at the picturesque outdoor venue.
According to the schedule, each night will present two bands ahead of DMB’s highly anticipated arrival on the Washington state stage. Friday, August 29, will commence with performances by blues-leaning acts, Iceland’s own Kaleo, and Memphis-bred Southern Avenue.
Saturday, August 30, will see a switch in openers and genre, with the arrival of acoustic groups Béla Fleck and the Flecktones and the husband-and-wife duo Oskar & Julia performing separately. The final night of music, Sunday, August 31, will bring The Late Show with Stephen Colbert bandleader Louis Cato to the forefront.
The final act joining in on the weekend event is indie-groove masters Goose. At this time, Goose’s only August appearance is their newly announced DMB supporting slot. The band will spend much of May and June on the road before concluding their tour at Westville Music Bowl in New Haven, Conn.
News of Goose’s participation in DMB’s Gorge run arrives after the band’s drummer Jeffery Arevalo’s permanent departure from the lineup earlier this week. Read more.
