Garth Hudson played organ and saxophone in Ronnie Hawkins’ band from 1961 to 1963. Hawkins’ backing band spun off on its own after that – playing under various names and backing Bob Dylan before recording simply as The Band. Hudson and Hawkins have shared the stage a few times over the years, including at The Band’s famed performance for the Last Waltz. The two musicians will come together this summer for a performance at Ronnie Hawkins All-Star Jam. The show will take place on August 12 in Dogs Nest ON as part of Dogs Nest at Dover’s 13th Bike Rally. Other acts schedule to perform include: Bad Company, Colin Linden, The Sadies, John Till and B.W. Pawley and Plum Loco.
