Vulfpeck spent the weekend in California, headlining Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre on Saturday night. Adding to the evening’s festive energy, a number of special guests took the stage with the funk out during the show.

Notably, former Late Show keyboardist Louis Cato filled in for Theo Katzman, who is in the middle of a solo run, throughout the concert. Then, partway through the night, current California resident Eric Krasno emerged for “Test Drive,” a tune from Vulfpeck’s 2020 release, The Joy of Music, the Job of Real Estate. Finally, Los Angeles singer Evangeline joined the collective for “Got to Be Mine,” a number she released in 2024 with the Vulfpeck offshoot Vulfmon, and a second time for “Back Pocket,” off 2015’s Thrill of the Arts, right before the night’s encore.

Krasno is an old friend of the Vulfpeck members who has shared bills with the band for over a decade. His new Rainbow Body band will make their live debut at Laguna Beach, CA’s Irvine Bowl as part of the Coast Film & Music Festival this Friday. Vulfpeck does not have any currently announced dates on the books.
