On Saturday, July 20, Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel skidded to a stop at Gloucester, Mass.’s The Cut for the final show in the first leg of its summer tour. After a successful Midwest run alongside Little Feat, the torch-bearing roots-rock ensemble blew through eight dates across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions in a continuation of its nearly nonstop 2024 live schedule. For this final appearance before jetting out to Honolulu and Japan’s storied Fuji Rock Festival with the Allman Betts Band, the pack-leading singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist brought his typical mix of beloved originals and show-stopping treatments of Allman Brothers classics to the small stage, cultivating an intimate and warm atmosphere. Wilson & Walsh–the duo of The National Reserve’s Sean Walsh and folk vocalist Samoa Wilson–opened.

After his foreign foray, Betts will return to the States on August 10 for a performance at Lewiston, N.Y.’s Backroads Blues Festival alongside Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Jimmie Vaughan. Shortly following, fans can find the artist alongside a dream team of hand-selected musicians at his own Horseshoe Music Festival in Jackson, Wyo. on Aug. 30-Sept. 1. Earlier today, Betts unveiled the lineup for the eighth annual Allman Betts Family Revival, which will bring him to 19 dates across the country with Luther Dickinson, Cody Dickinson, Lindsay Lou, Anders Osborne and more; find more information on the team-up tour here.
