The Disco Biscuits have confirmed the winner of their fan-voted Halloween Movie Night theme. As previously reported, the group will appear at Worcester, MA’s Palladium on October 30 and 31, with Thought Process opening on night one and the ensemble performing a live, improvised score to a film on Halloween proper. The quartet have now announced that the film they will jam along to will be the 1988 classic Beetlejuice.
The Disco Biscuits have scored films live several times during the past 27 years, most recently at Pelham, TN’s Caverns when they soundtracked Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 classic 2001: A Space Odyssey on October 31, 2024, as part of a multi-night, multi-themed stand. Their first live film score took place on December 31, 1999, when they played along to Katuhiro Otomo’s anime classic Akira. Two years later, they jammed to a series of films during a Pacific Northwest Halloween jaunt, including Alice In Wonderland (Oct. 31, 2001), It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (Nov. 1, 2001), Koyaanisqatsi (Nov. 2, 2001) and Run Lola Run (Nov. 3, 2001). They have revived the tradition a few select times since those revered shows, notably on December 31, 2015, at New York’s PlayStation Theater when they offered their spin on the music to Tron and a March 11, 2023, appearance at Pelham, TN’s The Caverns when they performed alongside The Fifth Element.
Before heading to Worcester, the Disco Biscuits will stop at Concord, NH’s Capitol Center for the Arts on October 28 and Hartford, CT’s Infinity Hall on October 29.
