Grammy Award winners and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recipients, Dave Matthews Band, have announced the release of their new live album, Take Me Back Live from the Gorge, recorded during their 2025 Labor Day weekend concert series at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington state. The landmark three-day event marked the first time the ensemble had performed Before These Crowded Streets in full, a central focus of the new LP, available digitally on Feb. 6, and on vinyl starting May 22.

For this record, the band presents their Saturday, August 30, 2025 performance, a striking 95-minute set that emphasizes the contents of 1998’s Before These Crowded Streets, Dave Matthews Band’s third studio album. Before delivering the beloved 10-track collection, the ensemble covered Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower,” a song that has been part of their live catalog but remains a rare and bold concert opener.

The group set up their entrance into the suite of material with “You Never Know,” “Cornbread,” and “It Could Happen,” ahead of the Flecktones arrival on “#41,” a move that winked at what was to come, considering Béla Fleck’s guest status on the studio album. Subsequently, the next moves account for Before These Crowded Streets’ opener, “Pantala Naga Pampa,” which has been flexed and stretched and pocked with instrumental crevices.

Fleck returns later in the program, adding to “Last Stop” and “Don’t Drink,” and ultimately swapping spots with fellow guest, Jake Simpson, who shows up on “Satellite” and “Tripping Billies.” Notably, from February 13-15, fans can relive the 2025 Gorge concert series, with all three performances airing for the first time on Volta.live

News of the impending live album arrives right after the band announced their annual return to the Gorge Amphitheatre on Sept. 4-6, 2026, as a part of their headlining summer tour. During the multi-night stand in Washington state, DMB will welcome support from  Stephen Wilson Jr. and Infinity Song on Friday, Watchhouse and Jonah Kagen on Saturday, and Jesse Welles and Sierra Hull on Sunday.
