Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds have announced the 2026 iteration of their Riviera Maya destination event. From Jan. 21-24, the longtime duo will return to the Moon Palace Resort in Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico for a four-night musical celebration featuring a stacked lineup of special guests. In their ninth annual trip, Mathews and Reynolds will deliver three performances, with Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats taking on headlining duties for night one.
Rateliff and his roots rock powerhouse’s set on Wednesday, Jan. 21, will feature support from progressive bluegrass pathbreakers Trampled By Turtles. Dave and Tim will helm the following three nights with intimate acoustic duo performances, with opening sets from folk singer-songwriter Joy Oladokun on Thursday, Jan. 22, and “discodelic” soul vocal trio Say She She on Friday, Jan. 23. For their finale on Saturday, Jan. 24, the duo will perform alone.
Earlier this year, as if their instrumental talents and finely-honed interplay were not enough, Matthews and Reynolds bolstered their Riviera Maya performances with countless surprises. After longtime bust-outs of “Spaceman” “Help Myself” and “Kit Kat Jam” on Friday, the duo reached new heights of excitement on Saturday with solo passages from both artists–including a piano treatment of Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth” by Matthews for the first time since 2007–and a soul-stirring cover of John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery” with special guest Sierra Hull.
On Sunday, the duo brought their latest foreign foray to a close by continuing a four-year custom of sit-ins from none other than Trey Anastasio. At the resort to prepare for his own Riviera Maya residency, Anastasio joined in at the end of the final set for a three-song stint, including a debut cover of the band’s Ophelia” delivered in tribute to the late Garth Hudson, “Everyday” and Dave & Tim’s first-ever staging of “Three Little Birds.”
