Dave Mason has cancelled the remainder of his 2025 tour dates. The legendary English classic rock star’s announcement today follows the cancellation of his spring live calendar back in March; both interruptions to his plans stem from an ongoing recovery process from an illness he faced earlier this year. The artist made the change of plans known with a message to his fans posted to his social channels.

“With deep regret, I must cancel all tour dates for 2025 due to ongoing health issues stemming from the infection I battled in March,” Mason wrote. “I’m incredibly grateful to my team of doctors—this has been challenging territory, to say the least.”

The 79-year-old performer continued with a statement of gratitude for his audience, support network and the stages he was previously set to visit. “A heartfelt thank you to all the fans, and to my family, band, agents, and the venues who’ve waited patiently and supported me throughout this journey. Your kind messages have lifted my spirits more than words can express. Recovery is a long road. My love for you all runs deep,” he concluded.

Mason’s summer U.S. run was to commence on July 11 at Kansas City, scheduled to begin at the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo., then continue through a total of 19 further performances before a finale at Salisbury, Mass.’s Blue Ocean Music Hall on August 20. Some highlights within the run would be a series of three co-headline dates with Kansas and .38 Special.

The esteemed singer-songwriter and former Traffic member’s cancellations today arrive after the March announcement of his illness and cancelled dates in March, April and May. At that time, representatives for the musician detailed that he’d been “hospitalized [with] a serious infection,” which followed the heart valve operation that caused him to cancel his Fall 2024 tour. In his spell away from the road, Mason released his new studio album A Shade of Blues in March, which included his take on a fistful of blues standards as well as Traffic classics like “Dear Mr. Fantasy” and “The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys.” Learn more about Mason and his latest record at davemasonmusic.com.
