Dark Star Orchestra Announce Jam in the Sand Return for 2027 with Melvin Seals & JGB, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country and More
Dark Star Orchestra have renewed their passports in anticipation of their destination concert event, Jam in the Sand XIII, returning to the soft-sand beaches at the Hideaway on the Royalton Blue Waters campus in Trelawny, Jamaica. The occasion is set to take place from January 12-16, 2027, and returns after a year off, due in part to venue renovations following damage from Hurricane Melissa.
Musical participants have already been named for the event’s return next winter. Taking the roster’s top slot is Jam in the Sand hosts, Dark Star Orchestra, who will provide three nights of two-set performances and an extended afternoon “Sunshine Set” on day three. Melvin Seals & JGB are also set to resume their previously filled festival slot, with special guest Mads Tolling (Bobby Weir’s Wolf Bros).
Meanwhile, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country has signed on to play two shows with a bonus gig set for post-night on January 16. Closing out the initial patch of participating musicians are The Brothers Comatose, who will lend their bluegrass spirit at two showtimes.
In a social media post, the band announced, “DSO family, it’s finally time. We are thrilled to officially relaunch Jam in the Sand.” Adding, “You are hereby invited to join us in Jamaica this January. With exciting upgrades underway at the resort and a renewed energy behind this return, Jam in the Sand 13 is shaping up to be our most elevated experience yet.”
The band’s post provided information for booking reservations, including a public on-sale date: March 20. And a special offer for previous Jam in the Sand attendees: they can book during a pre-sale window from March 18-19.
