On Friday, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country released their first-ever live album, Ryman To Robert’s. This record looks back to the group’s debut headlining performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on August 22, 2025, which coincided with the release of Horizons album. Ryman To Robert’s presents that complete show along with some tunes drawn from the group’s after-show set at Robert’s Western World where Donato first gained renown.
As Donato notes, “At the age of 14, I started busking on the street in front of the Ryman, and soon after that, I discovered Robert’s Western World. For 464 shows, I played at Robert’s, and after most shows, I would go and gaze at the majesty of the Mother Church in the late hours of the night. It is said that Nashville is a 10-year town. On the day of performing and recording this live album, it was the 10-year anniversary of my last show at Robert’s, and the first time headlining the Ryman Auditorium. To celebrate this occasion, we’ve did what had never been done on Broadway, by playing a sold-out show at the Ryman and immediately playing a set at the honky-tonk that started it all for me, Robert’s Western World. In a 10-year town, with 10,000 hours under these strings, the cosmic circle was fulfilled, and just about every note of every minute of this day is now ready to share with the world.”
Along with the album, the group has shared a 36-minute documentary that revisits these events. It presents backstage and rehearsal footage along with some live music. Beyond the Ryman performance Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country – One Night Only also looks at the late-night set and in-store appearance earlier that day.
Looking ahead to 2027, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country will return to the Caverns for Camp Cosmic IV. The event will take place on May 14 and 15, 2027. In addition to four sets from the band there will be an acoustic set in Shady Grove, late-night Cosmic Circle Campground Pickin' Parties, and a performance by Magoo.
