Carlos Santana has postponed the first 2025 run of his Las Vegas residency as he recovers from an accidental fall that left him with a broken finger. The 77 year-old legendary guitarist’s 13th annual series at House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino was extended into the new year just before he commenced a series of eight dates at the familiar stage in October and November, and he was slated to return to the stage from Jan. 22 to Feb. 2.
All 8 of the shows in this second stint have been moved, with no new dates set. Tickets for the postponed shows will be honored once they are rescheduled, and Santana is expected to make a full recovery after a few short weeks of rest.
“I am sorry to say that Carlos was out taking a walk at his vacation home in Kauai,” explained Michael Vrionis, president of Universal Tone Management. “He took a hard fall, and he broke his little finger on his left hand. He had to have pins inserted in the finger. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to play guitar for approximately six weeks. Doctors do say that he will recuperate fully.
“Carlos is doing well and is anxious to be back on stage soon. He just needs to heal,” Vrionis’ statement continues. “Santana profoundly regrets these postponements of his upcoming performances, but accidents happen, and his health is our number one concern. He is looking forward to seeing all of his fans very soon.”
While the first batch of Vegas dates have been moved, Santana will return for the final frame of his 13th annual series on May 14, 15, 17, 18, 21, 22, 24 and 25. Prior to these dates, the guitarist will cross from the Southwest to the Southeast on the Oneness Tour, plotting stops in California, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma and Tennessee from April 16 to 29. The Oneness tour will continue through the summer with 22 stops through Europe and the UK.
Santana’s residency at the storied close-quarters stage–termed in full “An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live: Presented by SiriusXM”–celebrates the life and legacy of the esteemed artist, whose generation-uniting catalog has earned him a rare honor as one of only two artists (alongside The Rolling Stones) to have an album in the Top 10 every decade since the 1960s.
Part of all proceeds will go to benefit Santana’s Milagro Foundation, which supports underrepresented youth with arts, education and health initiatives, and the House of Blues Music Forward Foundation, which uses music mentorship as a means to lead underserved youths to future success.
