Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers Outline Fall Run with Eggy
Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers have announced an intimate stretch of live appearances, scheduled for the East Coast. On the road, “The Way It Is” singer/ the Grateful Dead’s ‘90s collaborator will be joined by special guest Eggy for five stagings, beginning on Sept. 27 at The Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville, Va.
Hornsby and the Connecticut quartet members announced their plans by sharing a clever video on social media. In the clip, synchronicity was central. Hornsby and Jake Brownstein, who kick off the rotational push through band members, mimic each other’s routines: reviewing songbooks, sipping coffee, and picking out a record.
Dropping hints at potential musical interplay, Hornsby picks Eggy’s 2024 set, Waiting Game, while Alex Bailey selects Hornsby’s 2022 release, ‘Flicted. Before the clip ends with a list of impending concert dates, Mike Goodman and Dani Battat complete the acting task of moving in unison with Hornsby, sitting back down, and returning to the songbook.
On social media, Hornsby boasted about the impending run, “There’s something about the intimacy of small club stages that has spurred some of our favorite performances over the past few years. We’ve designed this upcoming run in an attempt to tap into that collective energy in search of ‘lift-off.’ We’re looking forward to sharing stages with those young whippersnappers from @eggymusic, and hope to create some memorable collaborative moments with them in these vaunted venues.”
According to Hornsby and Eggy’s amalgamated fall schedule, they will take their live show to the newly restored Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, N.Y., for two nights, September 29-30, before following up in Washington, D.C., on October 2 at the 9:30 Club. Ultimately, the run will end after an evening at South Burlington, Vt.’s Higher Ground, on October 4.
