Brooklyn Bowl Announces 1,200-Capacity Nashville Location, Shares Initial Show Lineup
Expanding into a third city, Brooklyn Bowl will stake a 2020 claim in Nashville, opening on March 14 with a very special Soulive/Bowlive gig featuring George Porter Jr.
“We’ve wanted to bring the bowl to Nashville for a few years and after looking at different areas of the city, we found this great spot right on the third base line of the Nashville Sounds,” co-founder (and Relix publisher) Peter Shapiro told Billboard, noting its location near the city’s First Horizon Park. “Germantown is this funky neighborhood with these amazing Victorian homes and the vibe of a Williamsburg or Silver Lake. Is an amazing town with this incredible history from the Ryman to the Opry to the Cannery to Broadway. I feel really lucky that we get to build a venue from ground up in Nashville and find our spot in that 1,200-cap range.”
Additional highlights on the Brooklyn Bowl Nashville schedule include The Revivalists (March 16), Rayland Baxter (March 21), Antibalas (March 31), Toots and The Maytals (April 22), Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (April 24), Twiddle (May 1) and three nights of The String Cheese Incident (July 22-24).
The venue will include a sizeable outdoor deck overlooking the ballpark, include multiple levels, a full menu by Blue Ribbon Group and 19 bowling lanes. It will open as a partnership between Brooklyn Bowl and Live Nation.
However, Nashville is just the beginning of a number of new ventures for Shapiro: a Garcia’s club in Chicago is set to open near the end of 2020, and he hopes to put more Brooklyn Bowls on the map in the coming years.
Tickets for Brooklyn Bowl Nashville’s initial 2020 shows go on sale Friday, December 20 at 12 Noon CT. Presale will stretch from Dec. 19 at 10 a.m. CT to 10 p.m. CT.
